When Clicking Calendar Bookmark in Notes R5 Client, the Calendar Does not Appear and Sched Mgr Hangs

Technote Number: 1100485

Problem:
This issue occurs if you create a folder in your mail file and name it
'Calendar'. 'Calendar' is a reserved name, which cannot be used to name
folders. The folder will need to be renamed. A workaround is to replace the
design of the mail file; this will enable you to see the standard Calendar view
again.

An enhancement request, to warn the user of reserved names (such as 'Calendar',
'Inbox', etc.) when creating folders, was submitted to Lotus Quality
Engineering and was addressed in Notes 5.0.8 Client.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 5.0.8 MR fix list (available at
http://www.notes.net):

Design - Views - Folders
SPR# SSHE49HRYU - This fix provides an error message when a user tries to
create a view or folder with the name "Calendar", from the Create - Design
dropdown menu.

Note: The fact that a duplicate folder of a reserved name can still actually be
created via the steps below has been reported to Lotus Quality Engineering (spr
#GPUS4W4NCQ). The problem is caused by changing the folder name from inside the
Folder Properties InfoBox.
Follow these steps...

1. Open your mail file. From the top menu select Create, Folder.
2. Click the Advanced button.
3. Click the Customize button.
4. With the Column Properties InfoBox open, change one of the Column Property
names.
5. At the top of the InfoBox, change the Properties For setting to "Folder".
You should now be in the Folder Properties InfoBox.
6. On the first tab, change the current folder Name from "Untitled" to
"Calendar".
7. Save your changes and exit.
8. Click the Calendar icon on your Bookmark bar in order to launch the default
Calendar view (not the new Calendar folder you created). A view other than the
standard Calendar view which shipped with Notes, appears.Supporting Information:
